The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Tudor Rose block! You will need to print out two copies of the template A page and one copy of the template B page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. To REGULAR PIECE, Print one copy of the B page, and one of the C page  .   Fat quarters should be plenty!

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

From your white fat quarter, first cut one 6-7/8" x 13-3/4" strip. Cut this in half to make two 6-7/8" squares. Stack the squares and cut them in half once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles...

From that same white fat quarter cut one 2" x 16-3/4" strip, and use the template provided on Template page B to cut four rectangles. From your red fat quarter cut one 2" square and use the template provided on Template page B to cut one square...

Now it's time to paper piece the block's center units!  After that is done, or you have sewn then regularly, lay those out with the white rectangles and red square we just cut as shown at left. Sew three horizontal rows. Join the rows...

[If you are regular piecing this, use the templates provided on the C page to cut rectangles and squares for the four corners of the center unit. Sew the corner units, and then proceed to piece the center as described above]

...on to Page 2!
