Now sew four of each of the units shown at left top and left middle,
using SMALL HSTS and Color 2 1-1/2" squares. Sew the
shorter units to the right of a Color 2 2-1/2" square,
pressing seam towards the square. Add the longer unit to the bottom,
pressing seam towards newly added strip. Make four units like that for
the block's corners...

Next sew a Color 1 QST-A to a LARGE HST. Make four of these...

Sew a Color 2 QST-B to each of the four units we made in the step
above. Make four like this. This is Side Unit A

Next sew another Color 1 QST-A to a LARGE HST, sewing on the opposite
side. Make four of these. Add a Color 2 Square C to the
end of each, making four in total...

Sew the units we just make to each Side Unit A, making four in
total...
|

Now sew Color 1 HST-A's to the lower adjacent sides as shown at
left. Make four of these units, which will be the block's Side
Units...

Now lay out all units, with the Color 2 3-1/2"
square as the block's center. Sew three horizontal rows. Join
the rows to finish the block! Congratulations!!
