Now place a Color 1 2" square right sides together against
the upper left end of a Color 3 rectangle. On the back of the square,
draw the diagonal, and sew ON this drawn line. Cut off the excess seam
allowance, pressing the remainder towards the triangle. Make another
rectangle unit like this with a small square sewn to the bottom right
corner in the same manner...
|
|
|
Sew a Color 3 half square triangle to a Color 2 half
square triangle, using a 1/4" seam and pressing the seam
allowance to the darker side. Make two units like this. trim these
back to measure 3-1/2" if needed... |
|
|
Now we'll start to piece the block! Sew a Color
2/Color 3 half square to a Color 3 square, and a Color 1 square to the
other Color 2/Color 3 half square. Sew these units together to make
the blocks upper right corner...
|
|
Next sew a Color 2 template-cut triangle to the left
and bottom of the right corner unit, pressing seams out towards the
triangles. Then sew the last two Color 3 half square triangles to
the left and bottom of that, again pressing seams out towards the
newest triangles... |
|
|
Sew the Color 1 large half square triangle to the
lower left corner of that, pressing seam towards the Color 1
triangle...this isn't hard, there are just a lot of little steps...
:o) |
|
|
To complete the block...sew a Color 1 square to the
top of the left hand rectangle unit. Sew that to the left side of
the block unit. Sew the block's bottom row...the base unit, the
other rectangle unit, and the last Color 1 square...then attach that
to the bottom of the block! ..and it's DONE! ...on to Page
