The first thing that I would
recommend that you do, is go to the Practice
Paper Piecing Page. When you feel comfy with paper
piecing, come on back and try a State of Connecticut Block! You will need to print out
four copies of each template page per block you want to make on very
lightweight paper. Fat Quarters will be ample! |

After your units are pieced, sew the template B page units together to
form four pieced triangles as shown top, bottom, left, and right in
the diagram at left. Now piece all the units to form the block,
pressing the seams clockwise around the block to keep the center from
getting bulky...

The quilt is four blocks by five. There are
thin sashing strips between the blocks and framing them, then a
pieced border surrounds it all! You will note that I stuck in some
additional colors to give the quilt some depth and to define
secondary patterns formed when the blocks come together!
Happy Quilting All!
