Start by cutting the Color 1
2-1/2" x 20" strip into eight 2-1/2" squares...
|
|
|
Then cut one of the Color
4 2-1/2" x 40" strips into sixteen 2-1/2"
squares. Cut the Color 4 2-1/2" x 20" strip into
eight more 2-1/2" squares... |

|
Cut the Color 1 4-1/2" x
9" strip into two 4-1/2" squares. Mark and cut the Color
4 9" x 18" strip into eight 4-1/2"
squares...
|

|
Cut one 4-1/2" square of Color 2 and of
Color 3...
|
|
|
Cut the Color 2 2-1/2" x
36" strip into eight 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles...
|
|
|
Cut the Color 3
2-1/2" x 36" strip into eight 2-1/2" x 4-1/2"
rectangles... |
|
|
Cut the Color 4 2-1/2" x
36" strip into eight 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles...
|
|
|
Sew one of the Color 4 and the Color 1 2-1/2" x
40" strips together along one long edge, using a 1/4"
seam. Press the seam towards the darker side. Now cut this unit at
2-1/2" intervals to make sixteen two color strips...
|

|
Piece the two color strips as shown at left to
make eight four patch units...
|
|
|
Sew the four patch units, four Color 4
4-1/2" squares, and one Color 1 4-1/2" square together
to make two units like the one shown at left, using all 1/4'
seams. Press seams in alternating directions by row...on to Page
2!
