Sew a Color 2 and a Color 4 half square triangle together as shown at left. Press to dark side. Make four of these... |

Now make four of the "Stairs" units shown at left, by sewing one of each of the three units we just made together for each one... |

Time to do the paper piecing of the side units. (Or if you prefer use the templates provided on the REG templates page, being sure to add the seam allowances around the outside edges of the templates. Sew those together to form the side units) Lay out all units as shown at left. Sew side units to opposite sides of two of the "stairs" units. Sew the remaining "stairs" units to opposing sides of the center square. Join the three units to finish off the block! |
