To make the top, bottom and side units of the block, sew four pairs of half squares together, and then join each of these pairs to a flying geese unit. Trim to 4-1/2" if needed...

Then join the units we just made into rows, and join the rows to make the block, using the extra Color 2 square in the center. Alternate pressing directions with each addition to avoid bulky seams!
   

The quilt shows a center made of four blocks by five blocks, surrounded by a thin Color 1 border. Added to that are two rows of geese/half square pairs and squares, which are again surrounded by Color 2 thin borders, forming bedpost slits at the lower edges...
