The first thing that I would
recommend that you do, is go to the Practice
Paper Piecing Page. When you feel comfy with paper
piecing, come on back and try a Ruthie's Star Block! You will need to print out
two copies of the template page per block you want to make on very
lightweight paper. You will also need one 2-1/2"
background square. |

After your units are paper pieced, lay them out
as shown at left with the extra background square in the center. Sew
three horizontal rows, pressing row seams in alternating directions.
Join the three rows and the block is done! |

Here on its side is a quilt with five rows of four
blocks each, with a pieced border!
