Fat Quarters will be fine!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Pinwheel Square! You will need to print out two copies of the template A page, and one of the B page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You also need one 2-1/2" center square.

After all units are paper pieced, join corner triangle units to make the four corners. Lay out all the units as shown at left with the extra 2-1/2" square in the center. Sew three horizontal rows. Now join the three rows and you are done! :o)

Here are four blocks by five!

Happy Quilting!
