Hens and Chickens Variation - Page 2

Piece the block by sewing rows, and then joining the rows, alternating pressing directions with each addition. Row one is two corner units separated by a Color 1 rectangle. Row two is two Color 2 rectangles separated by the Color 3   2-1/2" square. Row three is an inverted Row one! ..and now...you've got all your chickens in a row! snicker...

For this quilt, which is just a block to block construction, I substituted the Color 3 center 2-1/2" square with a random yellow chicken print to match the border!

Color 2 Color 2 needs: one 2- 7/8" x 17- 1/4" strip
Color 3 Color 3 needs: one 2- 7/8" x 11- 1/2" strip AND one 2- 7/8" x 17- 1/4" strip  AND one 4- 1/2" x 18" strip AND one 2- 1/2" square
