This makes an 12" block, and is paper pieced! I don't really mean it as a Christmas Quilt, but I was thinking of little cooked and uncooked crabs...so this is what I wound up with! :o)

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try the Crab Claws Block! You will need to print out one copy of the center square, and four copies of Units 1, 2 and 3 per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. Fat Quarters will be ample!

After your paper piecing is done, sew together pairs of Units 2 and 3 in two units of each color arrangement shown at left. All seams are a SCANT 1/4"...

Then just piece all the units, and the center square, first into rows, and then join the rows to make the block!  There's One Crab Claws Block! :o)

The quilt is four blocks by five, with a triple narrow border...Hope you like it!

Happy Quilting!

Here's one that Lynette made!
