The first thing that I would
recommend that you do, is go to the Practice
Paper Piecing Page. When you feel comfy with paper
piecing, come on back and try a Checkerpins Block! You will need to print out
one copy of the template page per block you want to make on very
lightweight paper. |
** Preparing the Pieces
and Sewing the Block ** |

Start by sewing the Color 2 and Color 3 2-1/2" x 30"
strips right sides together along one long edge using a scant
1/4" seam. Press seam to darker side. Mark and cut this at
2-1/2" intervals to get twelve units...

Sew three units together as shown at left to make 6 patch units. Make
four of these...

Now do your paper piecing of the pinwheel sections, remove the papers,
and sew one to
each 6 patch as shown....

Then piece the block! Easy One! YAY!! :o) ...on to Page
2!
