The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Cabbage Rose block! You will need to print out one copy of the template A page and two copies of the B page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. Fat Quarters should be plenty!

After all units are paper pieced, sew the side units to the center unit between marks on the seam allowances only, backstitching one stitch at beginning and end of each seam to secure. Remove from the machine, fold right sides together and stitch the remaining bits of un-sewn seams from the outer edges in to the center, backstitching one stitch at the end of each seam to secure...
