** Preparing the
Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Start by marking and cutting the
Color 1 7" x 14" strip into eight 3-1/2" squares... |
|
|
Next, mark and cut the Color
3 7" x 13" strip into four 3-1/2" x 6-1/2"
rectangles... |
|
|
Now mark and cut the Color
3 2-1/2" x 10" strip into four 2-1/2" squares.
Also cut one Color 2 2-1/2" square... |
|
|
First, sew a Color 2
1-1/2" x 6" strip to a Color 3 strip of the same size,
using a SCANT 1/4" seam. Press seam towards the darker fabric.
Mark and cut this new unit at 1-1/2" intervals...
|
|
|
Then sew together two Color 3 1-1/2" x
6" strips, again using SCANT 1/4" seams. Press seam to one
side, and cut apart at 1-1/2" intervals... |
|
|
Now sew each Color2 / Color 3 unit to a
Color 3 /Color 3 unit, making four four patch units...
