The first thing that I would
recommend that you do, is go to the Practice
Paper Piecing Page. When you feel comfy with paper
piecing, come on back and try a Beaded Chain Block! You will need to print out
four copies of the template A page and one of the B Page per block you want to make on very
lightweight paper. |
** Preparing the Pieces
and Sewing the Block ** |
Cut eight Piece A units, paying attention to the direction of
the grain...
Then cut eight Piece B units...
Turn under and press a 1/4" seam allowance on the curved edge of
all Piece B units. (To do this, and to help keep this curved edge
smooth, you may, if you like, sew a scant 1/4" seam on the
curved edge, and then turn under along your sewn line.)
Now baste the Piece B's to the Piece A's, wrong side of B to right
side of A, keeping the curved edge free for now...
Next do all the paper piecing. Sew a paper pieced triangle unit to the
left and right of each piece A+B units...
...on to Page 2!
