Now sew one of the Color 3 rectangles to one side of a four patch square; press seam allowance towards the four patch. Sew a Color 3 rectangle with Color 4 square attached to the adjacent side, as shown. Press seam allowance towards the rectangle. Make four of these... |

Next, align a Color 1 2" square atop one end of a Color 4 rectangle, right sides together; mark the diagonal on the square, and sew along the marked line. Trim off the excess seam allowance. Sew another square on the other end using the same method, and sewing the diagonal seam in the same direction.
