Now, to make one flying geese
unit, place a Color 2 small square right sides together atop a Color
4 rectangle, with edges aligned. On the back of the top square
lightly mark the diagonal. Sew ON this diagonal marking. Cut off the
excess seam allowance. Press the remainder towards the center.
Repeat this with another Color 2 square on the other end of the
rectangle. Make 24 flying geese in the same manner. Sew these
together to make four of the units shown at bottom left... |

Now lay out all of the units as shown at left, with
the extra Color 3 4-1/2" square as the center unit.
Sew three horizontal rows. Join the rows to finish the Wild Bears
block! |

Here are three blocks by three with simple
sashings and a plain border! Alternating blocks are made with the
placement of Color 2 and Color 3 reversed.
