This makes a 9" or 12" block !  The pattern is written for 12" blocks. (9" strip sizes are in parenthesis)

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Cut the Color 1  5-1/4" (4-1/4")square in half on both diagonals to make four large quarter square triangles...

Now cut the Color 1  2-7/8" (2-3/8") square in half once on the diagonal to make two half square triangles...

Then cut the Color 1  2-1/2" x 10" (2" x 8") strip into four 2-1/2" (2") squares...

Now cut the Color 2  2-7/8" (2-3/8") square in half once on the diagonal to make two half square triangles...

Then cut the Color 2  3-1/4" (2-3/4") square in half on both diagonals to make four quarter square triangles.(You only need two for this block)...

Cut the Color 2  5-1/4" (4-1/4") square in half on both diagonals to make four large quarter square triangles (You only need two for this block)...

Cut the Color 4  3-1/4" x 6-1/2"  (2-3/4" x 5-1/2") strip into two 3-1/4" (2-3/4) squares. Stack the squares and cut them in half on both diagonals to make eight quarter square triangles...on to Page 2!
