Next cut the Color 4  3-1/4" x 6-1/2"  (2-3/4" x 5-1/2") strip into two 3-1/4" (2-3/4) squares. Stack the squares and cut them on both diagonals to make eight quarter square triangles...

Next cut the Color 5  3-1/4" x 6-1/2"  (2-3/4" x 5-1/2") strip into two 3-1/4" (2-3/4) squares. Stack the squares and cut them on both diagonals to make eight quarter square triangles...

Now cut the Color 6  4-1/2" x 13-1/2" (3-1/2" x 10-1/2") strip into three 4-1/2" (3-1/2") squares...

Cut the Color 6  2-1/2" x 9" (2" x 7") strip  into two 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles.(2" x 3-1/2")...

Now cut the Color 6  2-7/8" (2-3/8") square once on the diagonal to make two half square triangles...

Next cut the Color 6  3-1/4" (2-3/4") square on both diagonals to make four quarter square triangles...

Then cut the Color 6  2-1/2" x 7-1/2" (2" x 6") strip into three 2-1/2" (2") squares...

Now, to make one flying geese unit, place a Color 1 2-1/2" (2") square right sides together atop a Color 6  2-1/2" x 4-1/2" (2" x 3-1/2") rectangle, with outer edges aligned. On the back of the top square lightly mark the diagonal. Sew on this diagonal marking. Cut off the excess seam allowance. Press the remainder towards the corner. Repeat this with another Color 1 square on the other end of the rectangle. Make one more Flying Geese unit in this color combination. Make one of each of the other two color arrangements shown, which use Color 1 rectangles with Color 2 and Color 6 squares...

Using a scant 1/4" seam allowance Sew a Color 1 and Color 2  2-7/8" (2-3/8") half square triangle together. Press seam to darker side. Trim to measure 2-1/2" (2") if needed. Repeat this with a Color 1 and Color 6  2-7/8" (2-3/8") half square triangle, again trimming the resultant Half Square to measure 2-1/2" (2") if needed...on to Page 3!
