Next sew together three Color 4 and one Color 2 2-1/2" squares
to make a Four Patch unit. This should measure 4-1/2"... |

This step is more easily explained with a photo! When sewing
together the long pieced side triangles, you need to place the units
right sides together, and LINE UP the marked dots! Sew between the
two dots. Press seams to the darker sides. Trim off the long
extending points after the stitching is done. These should measure
2-1/2" x 10-1/2"... |

Now back to drawings! Add the Color 3 2-1/2" square to
the Color 3 end of a pieced rectangle-the one with more Color 3 at
right. This unit will later be on the bottom of your
block...

Next sew one of each of the two side triangle units shown at left,
They should measure 4-1/2" x 6-1/2"... |

|
Time to piece the block! Sew two horizontal rows, and then
join the rows to make the unit shown at left...
