Sammy Lou Snacks

This is SammyLou :o) She passed away on Nov 18 2009, but is with me every day in my heart!

These were her favorite cookies, and very easy to make!

Ingredients

1 C Whole Wheat Flour plus some White Flour
2 Jars of Baby food (She loves 1 Lamb + 1 Carrots and Peas)
1 C chicken broth (this was water I cooked a chicken in, not canned broth -that would be too salty I think)
... 1 tsp minced garlic
1 T minced fresh parsley (I use frozen-fresh)
1/4 C quick cooking oats
2 T Peanut Butter
2 T olive oil.

*****

In a small saucepan on the stove bring the broth, oil, garlic, baby foods and oats to a boil, then lower to simmer for 2 minutes or so. Stir in the peanut butter til well blended. Transfer this to a bowl. Stir in the wheat flour, and enough white flour to make a workable soft dough. Flour a board or table and let the dough rest on there for a few minutes. Roll it out about 1/4" thick and use cutter to cut into dog bones, or just use a pizza cutter or knife to cut it in strips. Place on cookie sheets and bake at 350 for 10 minutes on the first side. Flip them all over and bake for another 10. Shut off the oven and leave the bones in there for another 5-10 minutes to make them nice and crunchy.

Hope your furry friends enjoy these as much as Sammy Lou did!
