This makes a 6" block and is an early 1900's pattern!

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** 

Using the circle template provided, cut one Color 2 circle from a 6-1/2" square. {If you will be FUSING this to your background square you do not need to add 1/4" seam allowances as you cut your fabrics...to piece or hand appliqué it, you DO need to add seam allowances}... 

Fold the circle in both directions to find the centers and cut in half  both ways to make four quarter circles...

Now you have choices! You can either Hand Appliqué OR fuse these to your 6-1/2" Color 1 background square- then machine stitch or embroider it, or both...

...OR, instead...if you prefer you can use THIS TEMPLATE and piece the quarter circles into that Color 1 unit in the same way that a Drunkard's Path is pieced!
