** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing
the Block ** |
|
 |
Start by stacking the Color 1 and Color 2
6-7/8" squares, and cutting them on the diagonal, using a rotary
cutter. You will only
need one large triangle of each color... |
|
 |
Then sew a Color 1 large triangle to a Color 2
large triangle, right sides together, using a 1/4" seam, and pressing seam
allowance towards the darker color fabric. This should measure
6-1/2"... |
|
 |
Next speed piece the half squares by stacking the
Color 1and Color 2 3-7/8" x 23-1/4" strips, right sides
together. On the back of
the top strip lightly mark the 3-7/8"square lines and mark the
diagonals as shown at left. Sew 1/4" above and below the marked diagonal
lines, pivoting at the square lines. Cut
apart on the marked diagonals, and on the 3-7/8" square lines, to make a total of
twelve half squares. Press to darker side. These should measure 3-1/2"...on to Page 2! |
