Sew a Color 2 half square to a Color 1 half square, and a Color 2
small square to a Color 1 small square, using 1/4" seams and
press in alternating directions by row. Join the half square row to
the square row, pressing seam to one side. This is corner unit A. You
will need 4 of these. These should measure 3-1/2" square...

Next sew a Color 1 small square to a Color 1 half
square, and a Color 2 small square to a Color 2 half square, using
1/4" seams and press in alternating directions by row. Sew
the two units together pressing seam to one side. This is corner
unit B. You need 4. These should measure 3-1/2" square... |

Then sew a Color 2 half square triangle to the right
of a small Color 1 square, pressing seam towards triangle. Sew
another Color 2 half square triangle to the bottom of the Color 1
square, again pressing seam towards the triangle. Sew a Color1 1
half square triangle to the pieces half square triangle unit to make
corner unit C. You need 4. These should measure 3-1/2"... |

Now sew unit As to unit Ds (a Color 3 3-1/2"
square), and unit Cs to unit Bs, using 1/4" seams, and
pressing seams in alternating directions by row. Join the rows to
make the block's corners... |

Now just piece the block! Make rows as shown at left, pressing in
alternating directions by row....then join the rows to finish the
block! ...on to Page
3!
