Now mark and cut the Color
1 16-1/2" x 42" strip into twelve 5-1/2" x
10-1/2" rectangles... |

Place one of the Color 3
squares against one end of a Color 1 rectangle, right sides together
and all edges aligned. On the back of the square, draw in the
diagonal, and sew ON that marked line. Cut off the excess seam
allowance( or leave it all there for block stability, if you prefer)
and press the remainder towards the outer triangle. Repeat
with another square on the opposite end of the rectangle. Make
twelve units like this. Trim them back to be 5-1/2" x
10-1/2" if needed... |

Cut four 11-1/4"
squares of Colors 1 and 2. Cut each of these in half twice
diagonally, to make sixteen quarter square triangles of each...

Cut two 11-1/4" squares of
Colors 1 and 3. Cut each of these in half twice diagonally, to make
eight quarter square triangles of each...
|

|
Sew quarter square triangles of
Colors 1 and 2 together, then join these pairs to make eight Quarter
squares in this color arrangement...

Sew quarter square triangles of
Colors 1 and 3 together, then join these pairs to make four Quarter
squares in this color arrangement...on to Page
