Next mark and cut the Color 2 1-1/2" x 7-1/2"

Then mark and cut the Color 3 3" x 9" strip into four
1-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles. Mark and cut the Color 3
1-1/2" x 10" strip into four 1-1/2" x 2-1/2"

Now speed piece the half squares by stacking the Color 1 and Color 3
2-7/8" x 11-1/2" strips, right sides together, marking the
2-7/8" square lines, marking the diagonals in the directions
shown at left, and then sewing 1/4" above and below the
marked diagonals, pivoting at the 2-7/8" square lines. Cut
apart ON the marked diagonals, and cut apart on the square lines as
well. This will give you eight half squares. Press seams to darker
side. These should measure 2-1/2" ...
|
|
|
Sew together four pairs of Color 2/Color 3 small squares, using 1/4" seam allowance, and pressing seams towards the darker

square-pairs...two in each orientation shown at left...on to Page
