Sew Color 1 squares to the ends of four Color 2
rectangles, using a 1/4"seam, and pressing to the dark
side. Make four units like this... |

Sew the remaining Color 2 rectangles to each side of
two pinwheel units, again using a 1/4" seam, and press
seams towards the pinwheels. Make two units like this... |

Now sew the rectangle and square units to the top and
bottoms of these two pinwheel/rectangle units. Make two
units like this... |

|
Next place a Color 2 square right sides together on
one end of a Color 1 long rectangle, with outside edges aligned. (I
show them staggered here just so you can see which fabric pieces I
mean.) Draw a diagonal line on the back of the square and sew ON
that drawn line. Cut off the excess seam allowance and press the
remainder towards the rectangle. Repeat this with another Color 2
square on the other end of the rectangle. Make four units like
this... |

Sew Color 1 short rectangles to the sides of two
pinwheel units, pressing seams towards rectangles... |

|
Sew the long rectangle/square units to the tops and
bottoms of those last two pinwheel/rectangle units...
|
|
|
Piece the block by sewing these four units together!
