** Preparing the
Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
Start by marking and cutting the
Color 1 3-7/8" x 23-1/4" strips into six 3-7/8"
squares. Stack these and cut them once on the diagonal to make
twelve half square triangles (HSTs)... |
Then do the same with the Color
2 strip of the same size... |
Sew these HSTs together in
pairs, right sides together and using a 1/4" seam to
make twelve half squares. Press seams towards darker fabric... |
Now sew the Color 1 and Color
2 2" x 24" strips right sides together along the
long edge. Do this with the Color 1 and Color 2 2" x
28" as well. Press seams towards darker fabric... |
Cut these paired strips at
2" intervals to make a total of twenty-six units... |
Then sew the previous units into
four patch units, still using a 1/4" seam, to make
thirteen four patch units... on to Page
2! |
