To make the corner units, first sew a Color 3 2-1/2" square to
one end of a Color 2 rectangle, right sides together, and (AS ALWAYS) using a 1/4" seam. Press seam allowance towards the rectangle... |

Then sew a Color 1 rectangle, right sides together, to the top of the
previously made unit. Press seam allowance towards the top rectangle... |

Now add another Color 2 rectangle to the right side of the previous step.
Press seam allowance towards the newly added rectangle.. |

Next, add another Color 1 rectangle to the bottom of the previous unit,
sewing from the outer edge to a point within 1/4" from the inner corner. Keep the

Fold the block right sides together, bringing together the two
un sewn
seams. Sew from the previous stopping point to the edge. Press remaining seams out. Make
two of these corner units... |

Now piece the block, by joining a Corner unit to a Snowball unit, twice.
Make two rows, and then join the rows to make the block. Alternate pressing directions
with each addition to avoid bulky seams!
