Cut the Color 1 5" x 20" strip into
sixteen 2-1/2" squares... |
|
|
Now cut the Color 2 4-1/2" x 22-1/2"
strip into five 4-1/2" squares...
|
|
|
Now sew together the Color 2 and Color 3, and Color 1
and Color 3 2-1/2" x 10" strips along one long edge
using a 1/4" seam. Press seams towards the red. Cut at
2-1/2" intervals. Sew
together one of each of these to make a four patch unit. Make four
of these. These should each measure 4-1/2" when done... |

Place a Color 1 square right sides together atop one corner of the Color
2 4-1/2" square,
with outer edges aligned. ( I show them staggered here for demo
purposes) On the back of the top square lightly draw the diagonal, then sew
on this drawn line. Cut off the excess seam allowance, and press the remainder towards the
outer triangle. Repeat this with another Color 2 square on the opposing
corner, and then on the adjacent corners. Make four units like this.
These should each measure 4-1/2" when done...on to Page
