Cut the Color 1 and Color 2 2-1/2" x
9" strips into two 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles of
each. Cut the Color 3 2-1/2" x 18" strip into four
2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles... |

Now cut the Color 1 and Color 2 2-1/2" x
5" strips into two 2-1/2" squares of each., and then the
Color 3 2-1/2" x 20" strip into eight 2-1/2"
squares... |

Time to make the flying geese
units! Place a Color 3 square right sides together atop a Color 1 rectangle, with outer edges
aligned. On the back of the top square lightly mark the diagonal. Sew on this
diagonal marking. Cut off the excess seam allowance. Press the remainder towards
the corner. Repeat this with another Color 3 square on the other end of the
rectangle. Make two geese in the same manner. Make two more using Color 2
rectangles. Then make two similar units using a Color 1 square on
only the right end of a Color 3 rectangle, and then two more using a
Color 2 square on one end only of the remaining two Color 3
rectangles...
