** Preparing the
Pieces and Sewing the Block **
Using the templates
provided (being sure to first add 1/4" seam allowances to each!) cut
out all the pieces you will need...then... |

Sew a Color 3 small
triangle to the slant end of each Color 1 trapezoid, using a 1/4" seam. Press seams towards darker fabric... |
|
|
Make four units as
shown at left, by sewing the larger Color 3 triangle to one side of
the right hand trap-plus-triangle unit. Press seams towards the trap
units... |
|
|
Then sew a Color 3
small square to the end of each of the left hand trap-plus-triangle
units, pressing seams towards the traps... |
|
|
Sew a Color 1 small
square to each square end of a Color 2 long piece, pressing seams
towards the small squares... |
|
|
Now sew a left hand
unit to the left side of each of the previously made large triangle
units, pressing the seams towards the left traps... |
|
|
Sew one of the Color 2
strip units to the right side of a large triangle unit, pressing the
seam towards the large triangle. Make two units like this...
