Now sew together the D and
D Rev pairs. Start at
the lower edge and sew to a point 1/4" from the "V". Sew two pairs together
as shown at left, sewing from a point 1/4" in from the outer edge to the center. Make
two units like this... |
|
|
Set in a C piece in each of the side
"V's, sewing from the lower edge in to the 1/4" point, keep the needle down
in the fabric, then pivot the fabric to line up the remaining un
sewn edges and
stitch... |
|
|
Next, sew one of the corner units to the top of the
side piece just added, sewing from the outer edge to a point 1/4" from the
"V" formed by the D and D Rev pieces. Leave the vertical seam of the
D Rev and
corner unit un sewn for now... |
|
|
Sew another corner unit to the bottom of the side
piece we are working on in the same manner, again leaving the vertical seam
un sewn for
now. Now piece the other half of the block in the same manner... |
|
|
Join the two block halves along the center star
seam, starting 1/4" from the top edge, and stopping at a point 1/4" from the
bottom edge. Now set in the top and bottom C pieces, sewing the slanted edges only at this
point, pivoting at the "V"... |
|
|
Now fold the left side of the whole block to the
right, lining up the un sewn edges. Stitch from the 1/4" point to the outer edges. Sew
the bottom open seam as well. Then fold the LEFT side of the block over to the right, and
sew the two remaining open seams...and THAT'S IT!! :o) Repeat after me...I LOVE set-in
Seams....LOL!
