Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Start by marking and cutting the Color 3 3"
x 14" strip into eight 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" rectangles... |

|
Sew together the Colors 1, 2 and 3 1-1/2" x
12" strips along one long edge, and press seams to darker
sides. Mark and cut at 1-1/2" intervals to make eight pieced
units...unit A |
|
|
Sew together two Color 3 and one Color 2
1-1/2" x 7-1/2" strips along one long edge, and press
seams to darker side. Mark and cut at 1-1/2" intervals to make
five pieced units...unit B |
|
|
Sew together two Color 2 and one Color 3
1-1/2" x 3" strips along one long edge, and press seams to
darker sides. Mark and cut at 1-1/2" intervals to make two
pieced units...unit C |
|
|
Sew together one Color 1 and one Color 2
1-1/2" x 12", and one Color 3 3-1/2" x 12"
strip, pressing seams to darker sides. Mark and cut this at
1-1/2" intervals...unit D |

|
Sew together two Color 3 1-1/2" x
14"strips and one Color 3 3-1/2" x 14" strip,
pressing to one side. Mark and cut this at 3-1/2" intervals to
make four pieced units....unit E |
|
|
To make the block's corner units, join two unit A's
and one unit B. Sew Color 3 rectangles to the top and bottom,
then add unit D's to the left and right. Make four units like
this...on to Page 2! |
