** Preparing the Pieces
and Sewing the Block ** |

From Colors 1,2,3 and 4 cut the pieces shown at left...

Cut the pieces shown at left from Color 5. At this point, I suggest
laying out all your pieces beside you as you want your block to
appear, to help in piecing things correctly...
|

After careful attention to where you want to colors within each block,
sew three triangles to a pentagon, using scant 1/4" seams, and
pressing seams towards the triangles. Do this with each of the
pentagons and triangles...
|

Now sew a corner background triangle to each of the four units you
just made. Again...use a scant 1/4" seam and press towards the
triangle...
|
|
 |
Sew a side background triangle to the bottom right and upper
left corner units, again pressing seams towards the triangles...
|
|

Sew the Colors1, 2, 3 and 4 small squares together to make a
four patch...on to Page 2!
