Grandmother's Dream - Page 2

Next, place a Color 3  3-1/2" square right sides together atop the upper right corner of a Color 2   6-1/2 square. Align all edges. (I show them slightly off alignment here so you can see what pieces I am using) Draw a diagonal line on the back of the top little square, and sew ON this line. Cut off the excess seam allowance, and press the remainder towards the center square. Repeat this with the opposing corner and another Color 3 small square. Repeat this with the two remaining corners, pressing those seam allowances towards the outer triangles instead. Make five units like this...

Sew a half square unit to the top of a Color 2 rectangle, and then another to the bottom, pressing seam allowances towards the center rectangle. Make four units like this...

Now sew a half square unit to a corner unit, then add another corner unit to that, press seam allowances towards the middle unit. Make one more row like this...

Then sew the center unit to a half square unit. add another half square unit. Press seam allowances towards the outer units...

Piece the block by sewing the three rows together, using as always, all SCANT 1/4 " seams. press the seam allowances in opposing directions...and That's the dream! :o) ...on to Page 3!
