** Preparing the
Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
First, using the regular templates provided, cut eight
long triangles from the Color 1 9" x 10 rectangle, being
sure to cut four in each direction... |
Then use the square template provided to cut one
center square from the Color 2 3-3/4" square... |
Now cut four wide triangles from the Color 3
4-1/4" x 14" rectangle... |
Cut the Color 3 2-1/8" x 4-1/4" strip into two 2-1/8"
squares. Stack these and cut them once on the diagonal to make four
half square triangles... |
Sew two Color 3 half square triangles to opposing sides of the
center Color 2 square, using a scant 1/4" seam. Press seams
towards triangles. Now sew triangles to the two adjacent sides of
the center square and again press towards the triangles. This should
measure 3-1/2". Trim if needed, being sure to leave 1/4"
beyond the points of your center square so they won't get cut off!
