Now sew the two Color 3 2" x 16" and one Color 2
3-1/2" x 16" strip together along the long edges as shown at
far left. Press seam to darker sides and cut this apart at 3-1/2"
intervals...

Now lay out the pieces need for each nine patch as shown at left. Sew
three horizontal rows, using a scant 1/4" seam. These should measure 6-1/2". Trim if
needed. You will be making four nine patches like this...

Now lay out all the completed stars and nine patches. Sew three
horizontal rows, again using that scant 1/4" seam. Press the row
seams of the top and bottom rows to the center and the middle row
seams to the outside. Join the rows, and that's one Five Star Block!
