As many pieces as this has---Don't be scared. The piecing methods are the same! I suggest that as you cut out your pieces... pop them into a baggie... LABELED!

This makes a 21" Block!

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Stack the two Color 1 1-5/8" strip. Align the bottom edge of the strips with the 45 degree mark of a clear cutting ruler. Cut one end of the strips off at 45 degrees...

Then turn the strips so you can cut from the right end, realign with the 45 degree mark . Using the ruler as your
guide, cut the 45 degree angles at 1-5/8" intervals. Cut four times to make a total of eight diamonds. Set these aside...equilateral diamonds...

Next speed piece the CORNER triangle half squares, by stacking the Color 1 and Color 2  1-7/8" strips, in two pairs, right sides together and all edges aligned. On the back of the top strips, lightly mark the 1-7/8" square lines, and mark the diagonals in the direction shown at left. Sew a scant 1/4" above the marked diagonals in one continuous seam from the upper left corner to the upper right corner. Then turn and sew back a scant 1/4" on the other side of the marked diagonals. Cut apart ON the marked diagonals, and on the 1-7/8" square lines. This will give you twenty-eight half squares. Press seams towards darker fabrics. Label these "Corner Half Squares"...
