To sew the corner units, using a scant 1/4" seam, sew
a Color 1 half square triangle right sides together to the left
edge of a Color 2 2-1/2" square. Press seam towards the
triangle. Add another Color 1 half square triangle to the upper
adjacent edge of the Color 2 square. Again press the seam
towards the triangle. Next sew a Color 3 half square triangle to
the pieced corner unit. Make four corner units like this. These
should measure 4-1/2"... |

Now lay out all the units as shown at left, with the
Extra Color 3 4-1/2" square as the block's center. Sew together
in three horizontal rows, pressing row seams in alternating
directions. Join the rows to finish your Crowning Glory Block! |
