For the block's center unit, sew the four half squares, the four
Color 2 small squares, and the one remaining Color 1 square together
as shown at left. Use all scant 1/4" seams. Trim this back to
measure 3-1/2" if needed... |

Now lay out all the block's units as shown at
left. Sew three horizontal rows, still using scant 1/4"
seams. Press the top and bottom row seams to the middle, and the
center row sea, to the outside. Join these rows to complete the
block! |
