Repeat the above procedure with Color 4 rectangles and small Color 1 squares. Make four units like this...

Sew a small Color 2 square to each end of the Color 4 rectangle units we just made, using the standard scant 1/4" seams, and pressing seams towards the end squares...

Next sew the Color 1 rectangle units to the Color 4 rectangle units as shown at left...scant 1/4" seams....and press seams towards the upper unit. Make four units like this...

Now sew a Color 3 square to each end of two Color 2 rectangles, pressing seams towards the rectangles. You'll be making two units like this...

Sew the other two Color 2 rectangles to each side of the center Color 3  4-1/2" square, pressing seams towards the rectangles. Sew the two Color 2 rectangle units we made just before to the top and bottom of this center unit (not shown)...

Piece the block next! Row one = Four Patch/ Color 1 rectangle unit/ Four Patch. Row two = Color 1 rectangle unit/ center unit/ Color 1 rectangle unit. Row three = Four Patch/ Color 1 rectangle unit/ Four Patch...and that's it! Press row seams in alternating directions. :o)  ...now on to Page 3!
