Start by sewing
together your small triangles together, right sides together, using a scant
1/4" seam. You need to have eight of these combos, four with the
dark on the right, four with the dark on the left (not shown) |

Then, attach these units
to the side of a corner Color 2 square, as shown, first to the bottom side... |

...and then to the right
side. Make four of THESE units... |
|
|
To each of these, sew on
a large Color 1 triangle. Trim these back to measure 5-1/2" if
needed... |

|
Now we start making
rows! First sew one of your corner units to a connecting Color 2 rectangle... |
|
|
Then add a second corner
unit to the other side of that connecting rectangle. This is row one! Do another of these
to make row three!
|
|
|
To make row two, sew the
2-1/2" Color 1 square to one end of a Color 2 rectangle...
|
|
|
Then sew another
Color 2 rectangle on the opposite side of the Color 1 square... = row two!
