Let's mark and then cut
the 2-1/2"x 15" Color 1 strip first, into six 2-1/2" squares...then mark
and cut the Color 2 2-1/2" x 5" strip into two 2-1/2" squares... |

Next, mark and cut all
the 2-7/8" strips into 2-7/8" squares. Colors2,3 and 4 will give you six 2-7/8" squares
each. Color 1 will give you ten... |

Then further cut each
of these 2-7/8" squares once on the diagonals... |
|

You will be
sewing your small triangles made in the previous step, using the standard 1/4"
seams...and always pressing the seam allowances towards the darker fabrics... |

..Making the number of
combination half squares that you see in the illustration on the left.
Trim each to 2-1/2" if needed...
