Sew the very center
strip out of your Color 1, 3 and 4 2-1/2" squares, then
add two Color1/Color 3 strips to the sides of that center strip. Sew
a Color 4 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" strip to the top and
bottom of that unit... |

Now add a Color 2/
Color 3/ Color 1/ Color 4 strip to each side of the previously made
unit... |

Next add a Color 3/
Color 2/ Color 4 strip to each side of the larger unit...to complete
the block! Note that this is virtually the same as a Double Irish
Chain, but because of the Color layout, somewhere back in history,
it took on a new name! |
