** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
|
|
Start by cutting the Color 1 2-1/2" x 10" strip into four 2-1/2" squares... |
|
|
Next cut the Color 2 1-1/2" x 10" strip into four 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" rectangles... |
|
|
Sew the Color 1 and Color 3 1-1/2" x 22" strips right sides together along one long edge, using a scant 1/4" seam. Press to darker side. Cut apart at 5-1/2" intervals to make four pieced side units... |

Now sew the Color 1 and Color 3 1-1/2" x 12" strips right sides together along one long edge, again using a scant 1/4" seam. Press to darker side. Cut apart at 1-1/2" intervals to make eight units. Sew these together as shown at lower left to make four Four Patch units... |

Lay our the center units as shown at left and stitch together... ...on to Page 2! |
