Now sew the Color 6, and Color 4 units we just made in the step above together in pairs, making two units of each... |

Next speed piece the half squares, by stacking the Color 3 and Color 7 2-3/8" x 9-1/2" strips, right sides together and all edges aligned. On the back of the top strip, lightly mark the 2-3/8" square lines and mark the diagonals in the direction shown at left. Now sew 1/4" above and below the marked diagonals, pivoting at the square lines. Now cut apart ON the marked diagonals, and on the 2-3/8" square lines. This will give you eight half squares. Press seam allowances towards the darker fabric. These should measure 2". Repeat this with a Color 5 and Color 7 strip set to get eight more half squares in that color arrangement... |

Now sew the half squares together to make small pinwheel blocks, two of each color arrangement... |

Next, sew the Color 2 quarter square triangle units together to make the block's center unit... |

Now lay out the block's units as shown at left. Sew them together into three horizontal rows. Join the rows, and it's done! Congratulations!! ...on to Page 3! |
