** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Using the template provided cut four of Unit A from a 4-1/2" x 22" strip of  Color 1...

Cut four of Unit C from a 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" strip of Color 2...

Cut eight of Unit D from a 4" x 13" strip of Color 3...

Cut four corner squares plus four of Unit B and four of Unit D from a 10" x 14-1/2" strip of Color 4...

Now, using a 1/4" seam (here and throughout the project) sew a Unit D Color 4 triangle to a Unit D Color 3 triangle. Press seam to darker side. Add Unit B triangles to the left and right, pressing seams towards the Unit B triangles. Make four units like this...

Now sew Unit D/Color 3 triangles to the bottom of each Unit C/ Color 2 trapezoid, pressing seam to darker side.  Sew each of these units to a Color 1 parallelogram, starting and stopping at a point 1/4" from each end of that seam line. Reinforce your stitching at each end. Press seam to darker side. Now set a corner square into each corner by stitching from the inner corner to the outsides, again reinforcing your stitching at that inner corner. Make four units like this in total...on to Page 2!
