The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Treasure Chest Block! You will need to print out two copies of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You will also need ONE 4-1/2" square for the block's center.

Once your units are paper pieced, join the triangle units as shown at far left, then piece the block, using the 4-1/2" square in it's center!

The quilt is four blocks by five, with narrow sashings between the blocks, then a triple border of colors pulled from the blocks. There are cornerstones with small appliquéd stars in the quilts outer corners :o)
