** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** 

From your Color1, 2, 3 and 4 squares, sew a four patch, using 1/4" seams, and pressing row seams in opposite directions. This should measure 8-1/2"...

Using the template provided for the triangle, cut four triangles from your rectangles of fabric.  Note that if your fabric is directional, as my stripe is, you'll want to have your fabric rectangles cut in opposing directions...

Sew the triangles to each side of the four patch, matching the half way point of the four patch to the half way point of the slant edge on the triangle. Trim the square back to measure 10-1/2"...and now One block is done!   ...on to Page 2!
